Riding

Not at all! Our calm and easy trail rides are ideal for complete beginners as well as experienced riders. We adapt the pace and route individually, so you can simply relax and enjoy the ride.

Children from about 8 years of age and with sufficient height can ride one of our full-sized horses on their own. Since we don’t use ponies, smaller children shouldn’t ride alone. However, younger kids are welcome to join together with an experienced parent on the same horse or

Yes, for safety and comfort we have suitable horses for riders up to around 100 kg. Experienced riders may be a little heavier. If you’re unsure, just reach out to us – we’ll be happy to advise personally.

We recommend comfortable long pants (shorts can cause rubbing) and sturdy, closed shoes with a flat sole. Depending on the weather, gloves, a light jacket, rain protection, or sunscreen will make your ride even more enjoyable.

We have helmets in various sizes available for you to use. If you prefer to bring your own well-fitting helmet, that’s absolutely fine too.

Our Argentinian style is inspired by the traditions of working with horses on large estancias. It’s similar to Western riding – relaxed, natural, and less formal than classical styles. This makes it especially welcoming for beginners, while experienced riders often enjoy discovering the differences and unique feel of the approach.

To keep the experience safe, friendly, and personal, we ride in small groups. A typical ride includes up to 6–10 participants, so there’s plenty of attention for everyone.

Our horses are outdoors in all weather, so we rarely need to cancel a ride due to rain. Sometimes we simply delay the start a little.

Yes! During the main season we offer rides daily, while in the off-season rides usually take place on weekends. We’re also happy to arrange individual dates on request.

We regularly add new dates to our schedule. If you’d like to book in advance, just send us a request at booking@cavalan.de and we can create additional rides for your preferred dates.
Accommodation

At Cavalan you’ll find three cozy holiday apartments (for 2–6 guests), one double room, and four comfortable glamping tents (May–October, each for 2–4 guests). Altogether, 25–30 people can stay directly on the ranch. For larger groups, we’re happy to arrange additional accommodation in charming guesthouses and holiday homes nearby (within a 10-minute drive).

Bed linen and towels are included in all accommodations – even the glamping tents are equipped to make you feel at home.

Yes – our holiday apartments all have fully equipped kitchens with a stove, fridge, dishes, and everything else you’ll need. In addition, we provide equiped, shared kitchens and dining areas on the ranch, both indoors and outdoors for our Glamping guests.

You’ll stay connected: high-speed WiFi is available across the entire property via Starlink satellite internet. Mobile reception varies depending on your provider, but is generally available.

The holiday apartments and double room are open year-round, while the glamping tents invite you to a special nature experience from May to October.

Yes – dogs are welcome by prior arrangement. Since Cavalan is home to horses, dogs and chickens and plenty of nature, pets should be well-behaved and supervised at all times.

Shops are close by: within 10 minutes by car you’ll find supermarkets, bakeries, and smaller stores. For a wider selection, the town of Güstrow is just 20 minutes away.
Glamping

Yes, all glamping tents are equipped with power outlets – so you can easily use lamps, chargers, or small devices.

Yes, the tents are set up like real little hotel rooms: cozy beds with bed linen and blankets, as well as towels, are included in the price.

The tents have small electric heaters that keep things cozy on cooler evenings.

Yes, modern showers are available in the farmhouse – newly renovated and close to the tents. Furthermore, there is a heated outdoor shower available.

The sanitary facilities are shared. There are several bathrooms with showers and toilets, all clean, modern, and well maintained.

Yes, the tents are set up from May to October. Outside this season, our holiday apartments and double room are available.

Yes, a fully equipped communal kitchen (stove, fridge, dishes, etc.) is available. There are also cozy dining areas both indoors and outdoors.

Asado

An Asado is a traditional Argentinian barbecue where meat, vegetables, and specialties are slowly grilled over an open fire – more than just food, it’s a social event with plenty of atmosphere.

Yes, advance registration is required so we can plan for food and seating.

Typical dishes include premium cuts of beef, homemade empanadas, grilled vegetables, fresh salads, and desserts. To accompany the food, we serve Argentinian wines, regional beer, and diverse non-alcoholic drinks.

Yes, vegetarian options are always available, prepared with just as much care and variety.

Yes, you can book an exclusive Asado event just for your group – ideal for team evenings, celebrations, or private parties.

An Asado usually lasts about 3–4 hours, depending on the group and atmosphere.

Most Asados take place outdoors around the fire, but if the weather doesn’t cooperate we can move inside to our barn with its indoor grill.

Yes, the meat is sourced regionally whenever possible, and complemented by fresh vegetables and herbs from our own garden.
Eventlocation

Cavalan can be used for a wide variety of events: weddings, corporate retreats, meetings, team offsites, birthdays, or private celebrations. Each event is tailored individually – from rustic to festive.

The barn holds up to about 70 guests, and the new seminar & event hall up to 80. Outdoors, depending on the setup, over 80 guests can celebrate. On-site accommodation is available for about 25–30 guests.

We offer in-house catering with a focus on regional cuisine and Argentine specialties (e.g. Asado, wood-fired pizza). External catering can be arranged upon request.

We provide presentation equipment (projector, screen, smartboard), sound system, lighting, microphones, and moderation materials. For celebrations, a music system is available in the barn.

Most areas of the ranch, including the barn and hall, are accessible at ground level. Please contact us so we can check individually if all your requirements are met.

Yes – our event barn and the new hall both offer spacious indoor alternatives. Covered terraces can also be used, and tents can be arranged if needed.

Yes, there is plenty of parking directly on-site – suitable for both cars and campers.
